(PREK/K Focus) The Power of Dialogical Reading and STEAM-Focused Picture Books in the Classroom and at Home
Dialogical reading can be effective in both the classroom and at home to increase literacy and language skills.  Participants will learn the sequences and prompts of dialogical reading and use picture books to practice interactive reading. Each participant will be given a STEAM-focused picture book, book specific dialogical reading strategies and handouts for both teachers and parents

Redefining Success: Supporting All Students to Reach Their Full Potential

Juli, Alex, and Jessica provide a unique perspective on how to support ALL students to learn. Juli, a university mathematics educator, provides the viewpoint of both the educator and the parent of children with special needs. Alex, a college freshman, shares her story related to both medical and educational struggles. Jessica, a high school junior, provides the position of both the sibling and student with a disability and connects her experiences as a high achiever to a new perspective on Universal Design for Learning.

Personal Tech Coach
FNSBSD is piloting a new tech coaching program to help support teachers to effectively use technology to teach, support personalized learning, and increase efficiency to reduce your work time and workload. Teachers will be given 1-to-1 support for meeting their personal tech goals with the option of receiving course credit  and/or a class set of iPad 2’s. This session will provide teachers an overview of the program & get started on the application.
