This session is best for K-2, 3-5, world language, and social studies teachers. Participants will walk away with a game they could use in their classrooms in the next few weeks. Mystery Skype is great for building global communication & collaboration in the classroom. This session is best for those who are new to Mystery Skype.
In this session, participants will learn cool apps that will help teachers establish meaningful communication with parents and students in real time. This is a BYOD session.

While this session was designed with language teachers in mind, it contains useful tools and tricks that could be applied to any discipline! In this session participants will learn how to incorporate popular music into their language lessons to teach targeted vocabulary in a fun way that engages and motivates students using comprehensible input and authentic texts. This session will provide attendees an opportunity to experience a sample lesson, work collaboratively to think of ways to incorporate music into their respective classrooms, and feel motivated to incorporate song and dance into their instruction!
This session will also delve into topics such as the use of authentic, culturally relevant texts and targeted versus untargeted input.
This session addresses many questions and concerns academics have of online learning as well as some of the myths that commonly surround online learning, specifically foreign languages. We will address: various reasons students take online foreign languages classes; whether or not "cannibalization" occurs; interaction; and first-hand accounts of our students.
