While this session was designed with language teachers in mind, it contains useful tools and tricks that could be applied to any discipline! In this session participants will learn how to incorporate popular music into their language lessons to teach targeted vocabulary in a fun way that engages and motivates students using comprehensible input and authentic texts. This session will provide attendees an opportunity to experience a sample lesson, work collaboratively to think of ways to incorporate music into their respective classrooms, and feel motivated to incorporate song and dance into their instruction!
This session will also delve into topics such as the use of authentic, culturally relevant texts and targeted versus untargeted input.
FNSBSD is piloting a new tech coaching program to help support teachers to effectively use technology to teach, support personalized learning, and increase efficiency to reduce your work time and workload. Teachers will be given 1-to-1 support for meeting their personal tech goals with the option of receiving course credit and/or a class set of iPad 2’s. This session will provide teachers an overview of the program & get started on the application.
