Debating is a powerful pedagogy, leveraging the motivations of competition to inspire students to research, analyze, understand and communicate effectively about their position.  As a dynamic communicative activity, debate engages both participants and observers in the consideration of controversial issues in ways that other assignments, particularly public speaking or writing, do not.  

This session will equip attendees with the comprehension and tools they need to incorporate debating into any classroom.
